Richie Incognito, Buffalo Bills can’t handle Fletcher Cox in loss to Eagles

Welcome to the world of parity as the 5-7 Philadelphia Eagles prepare to take on the 6-6 Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo quarterback Tyrod Taylor completed 19 of 36 passes for 268 yards, a touchdown and an interception, and Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford completed 23 of 38 passes for 247 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Buffalo also made McCoy the sole team captain for the game. McCoy is obviously still upset about how his time with the Eagles ended, with coach Chip Kelly trading him to the Bills.

When asked flat out if it was his preference to come back to the Eagles, Bradford offered a lukewarm response.

“No, I never called McCoy this week”, Kelly said. Matthews said that he likely would not have been able to play if the Eagles played on Tuesday, but a week of rest and treatment could put him in line to play on Sunday night. Reynolds had two interceptions in the Eagles’ first preseason game, and… well, that had really been his story in 2015. “That’s why [he] said it. I know him”. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound pass-rusher often doesn’t read his name in articles or hear it on newscasts because he’s more likely to draw consistent double teams than record tackles himself.

“Penalties, we got ourselves to blame”. If they win out, they finish first. The Eagles escaped with a 23-20 win, leaving a bitter taste in McCoy’s mouth.

After that, he didn’t have another run longer than four yards until a seven-yard run on the first play of the Bills’ final possession.

Bradford 53-yard touchdown pass to rookie receiver Nelson Agholor. It didn’t appear to be Ryan, but it very well may have been defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman.

The Bills answered the Eagles touchdown in the next series.

-SPECIAL TEAMS: B-plus. Caleb Sturgis needed to be flawless and was, converting all three of his field goal attempts, including a 30-yard game-winner with 3:26 left.

It does not look like Kelly holds the same resentment toward McCoy, but he is clearly not focusing on trivial matters such as McCoy’s departure from the Eagles.

After the Eagles got on the board with a 1-yard plunge by Darren Sproles, the Bills tied it up when Taylor hit Sammy Watkins deep for a 47-yard score.
