Fire in Mumbai’s Bandra shops
On Monday morning at 9 am when the rest of the Mumbai was reeling under the effects of heavy showers a fire broke out at the Kenilworth Shopping Arcade in Bandra.
No casualties have been reported so far and the rescue operation is still going on, the official added. Several fire brigades were rushed to the spot and police officials cordoned off the area. The building, which houses the fast-food joint KFC, popular Japanese joint Kofuku, among other shops, on Linking Road was engulfed in smoke.
A fire broke out near KFC restaurant at Bandra Linking road. According to reports, the fire began at a shoe store on Linking Road and because leather and plastic items caught fire, the flames spread quickly.
Ambulances were rushed to the location along with fire engines.
Even though the suspected cause of the fire is a short circuit in one of the shops, the exact cause of the fire will be ascertained only after a thorough investigation.
