Wind advisory in effect from midnight to noon Thursday
There’s a chance of showers this morning, as well as a wind advisory in effect until 1 p.m.
“Strong west winds will develop late this afternoon and continue through Christmas morning for the high desert, mountains and the mountain desert slopes as low pressure digs across the region”, according to the weather service. The current record high today is 55 set in 1982.
The high temperature at Massena’s Richards Field, an official National Weather Service weather station, was 67 at 9 a.m. today, and it has dropped off some since then.

High temperatures on Friday will be in the 30s with a mostly sunny sky.
Sunday night won’t see any decrease in rain chances – and what’s worse is that when you combine a nighttime low around 36, west-northwest winds around 15 miles per hour – with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour – and cloudy skies, it will be dark, nasty and miserable outside.
