NYC Makes History with Warmest Christmas Eve on Record

Baltimore set three new temperature records on Christmas Eve and on its second-warmest Christmas Day on record, surging into the 70s both days and only cooling to 58 degrees.

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said Thursday morning that a 22-year-old man died in Rhea County, about 75 miles southwest of Knoxville.

“Cold air behind the front will drop snow levels down to between 3,000 feet and 4,000 feet”, the outlook said.

In Islip on Long Island, a record 64 degrees topped the previous record of 56 degrees, set past year.

“If somebody is planning to travel out there, they should find another route”, said Stuart Seto, a weather specialist with the National Weather Service.

Christmas Day is expected to be partly cloudy with showers after 11 a.m., the weather service said.
