Donald Trump ‘honoured’ by Vladimir Putin’s compliments

Vladimir Putin appears to be mutual respect for Trump. if the Russian president’s latest comments are any indication.

President Vladimir Putin again denounced Turkey’s action during his annual news conference, saying that it is now “practically impossible” to fix ties under the current Turkish leadership.

Obama has been critical of Putin, and called for sanctions after Russian Federation annexed Crimea. “But it’s not our business to judge his merits, it’s up to the voters of the United States”, Putin told reporters.

Trump, a tycoon and one-time reality television star who has unexpectedly become leader of the Republican presidential candidates’ race, has gained both fans and enemies recently for inflammatory remarks against Muslims.

Putin has backed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, while Obama has called for Assad to step down.

Trump was asked during one of the debates in September what he would do to get Russia’s military presence out of Syria, and answered that he would first get Putin’s respect.

“He says that he wants a different level of relations, tighter and deeper relations with Russian Federation, how can we not welcome that?”

“It is always a great honour to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond”, he said.

Putin and Erdogan have been locked in a war of words since the plane downing, and Moscow has even accused Erdogan s family of engaging in oil smuggling operations with Islamic State jihadists. “Certainly, we welcome it”.

Chris Christie, meanwhile, has continually talked tough regarding Putin and Russian Federation on the campaign trail.

Asked about Putin’s comments, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said they sounded pretty close to an endorsement of Trump.

Unlike other Republican presidential contenders, Trump has often touted his ability to improve Washington-Moscow relations by working with Putin.

The Russian president is famed for public stunts, including swimming in a frigid river and riding a horse bare-chested, that emphasize his athleticism a more-convincing strategy than a superlatives-dripping letter from a physician that Trump issued this month.

The Russian plan for settling the conflict “strangely as it may seem, coincides with the US vision in its key aspects: joint work on a constitution, creation of instruments of control over future early elections, holding the vote and recognizing its results on the basis of that political process”, Putin said.
