Kings, Seth Curry agree to 2-year deal
Curry led the New Orleans Pelicans summer squad to the semifinals in the Championship Tournament by being the leading scorer in the league despite not shooting the ball that well from three-point land. The Pelicans will be coached this season by Alvin Gentry, who served as an offensive coordinator of sorts on Steve Kerr’s staff with Golden State.
The Curry brothers may have grown up in Charlotte, N.C., but they are taking over Northern California.
The Sacramento Kings and free-agent guard Seth Curry have agreed on a two-year contract worth $2 million. The Kings dealt him to New York last August, and he averaged 5.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 68 games with the Knicks. It was only a matter of time before a team gave Curry his shot in the Association. He also will be in the same division and in close proximity to Stephen, about 85 miles away in Oakland (in 2013-14, Seth played the first of his two D League seasons in Santa Cruz, about 70 miles south of the Warriors’ facility).
At 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Curry brought in by the Kings, and is the second player the team has reached a deal with since the end of Summer League.
Now he’ll be about 80 miles up the road from Oakland in California’s capital city.
