Celebrate Christmas Eve with The Beatles
The Beatles fans could enjoy songs from the band as it was recently announced that it will be available for online streaming starting on Christmas eve.
The whole catalogue of the world’s most celebrated popular music group, which includes 13 studio albums and four essential collections, became available on Google’s music streaming service at exactly 12:01 of December 24.
The Beatles’ music has always been available on Internet radio services such as Pandora Media Inc. and on satellite radio but never before via on-demand services.
“Happy Crimble, with love from us to you”, The Beatles said on their website, referring to a term popularised by John Lennon to describe Christmas.
The announcement means that fans will be able to listen to the band’s songs on Spotify, Apple Music, Slacker, Tidal, Groove, Rhapsody, Deezer, Google Play and Amazon Prime.
For smaller, independent musical groups, streaming has come under fire for giving musicians incredibly small royalty payments per stream.
The Beatles’s surviving members, Starr and Sir Paul McCartney, had for years kept the band’s music off of streaming airwaves, though their songs were available for purchase via Apple’s iTunes.
In case you missed it, Greenwald gave readers a ticket to ride in the wayback machine earlier this year to when The Beatles played Portland’s Memorial Coliseum 50 years ago. Also, in 2014, Mr. Rob Wells mentioned in a number of press conferences about placing The Beatles as a part of the free-trials promotion on Apple Music.
Streaming services, such as Apple Music have already been flourishing after securing rights with mainstream music icons, including Taylor Swift for exclusive streaming privileges of her album 1989. It is important to add that Spotify will stream the band’s music for free.
