Maine 8-year-old battling cancer gets wish to meet Tom Brady

On Saturday, Hailey was able to go hang out with Brady.

The New England Patriots quarterback invited Hailey, an 8-year-old girl who is battling leukemia for the second time, to come down to Gillette Stadium on Saturday before the Pats left for NY. There they met with Brady, took pictures and got hugs.

Haily’s family has published several photos of the encounter on their Facebook page, including a photo of Brady smothering Hailey with a hug. Brady’s gift began with a video, which he seemingly filmed from inside the Patriots’ locker room.

“I heard you had a special Christmas wish that you wanted this year”.

Thousands of well-wishers follow Hailey’s Facebook page, “Hailey’s Journey Our Journey”, and relayed her wish across the Internet.

The Patriots play the Jets on Sunday at 1 p.m.

“She already misses you and hopes yesterday is no the last time she gets to see you”, Tabaitha Steward said.

On Saturday, Hailey Steward’s dad posted an emotional post about what the visit with Brady meant to him. “Today we are going to watch Tom Brady and the New England Patriots kick some New York Jets’ butts”.
