Star Wars fan in NY legally changes name to Darth Vader
Vader owns Allegiant Fitness, a small gym in Canandaigua, and this year he’s completed 13 half marathons and 18 Tough Mudder races around the country. “I don’t mind, but ask me in a few years”.

The 43-year-old man has been dressing up like the “Star Wars” character for years, and made it official in time for new movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
Ludewig said he took special inspiration from the Bible passage Romans 12:21: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good”.

Vader told the D&C that the name change wasn’t hard, but he did have to sign documents promising not to use the Force for evil character’s likeness for his own profit.
He also said the confusion is strong with those who don’t know him personally, especially on the phone.
He still has to show his ID to prove that his is in fact Darth Vader.
