Draymond Green, OJ Mayo get heated after Warriors defeat Bucks
Golden State players haven’t forgotten how happy the Bucks were about that.
_Former Warriors player Sonny Parker attended the game wearing a Warriors sweatshirt and a Bucks hat.
Stephen Curry scored 26 points and Draymond Green fueled a key fourth-quarter run that helped the Golden State Warriors avenge their only loss of the season by beating the Milwaukee Bucks 121-112 on Friday night. “We use our length on the defensive end and on the offensive end and we try to make it as tough as possible for them”. That’s when O.J.’s teammate Khris Middleton shoved Draymond, and tensions started to rise.
At 10-18, they’re already six games out of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, and have had a very disappointing season when they’re playing anyone other than Golden State.
“We’re looking forward to it, man. Obviously a team that gave us our one in the loss column, and we felt they could have won with a little more class”.
Milwaukee sent shock waves throughout the league by ending the Warriors’ 28-game regular-season winning streak with Saturday’s 108-95 victory.
“Show a little respect”, Mayo said via MSN.com.
There are not many teams in the National Basketball Association that are capable of defeating the Warriors. Thompson was a different player on Wednesday and scored 27 of his season-high 43 points in the third quarter while going 15-of-22 from the field, including 8-of-13 from 3-point range. But we didn’t get it done on the defensive end. But it’s also a technique used by teams where they consciously decide to row as fast and as hard as possible for the first half or three-fourths and then essentially let your built-up forward momentum carry you to victory. “That’s something that needed to change and did”, Green said.
“It has been kind of a playoff feel just with the streak and all the media and attention around”, Green said.
Marc Gasol is now 9-12 in games against his older brother, but said it’s “always cool” to play him.
“There’s definitely some of that that happens when we need a spark”. Curry then got fouled on a 3-pointer and made all three free throws to tie the game at 100 at the midpoint of the quarter.
“They hit shots and the tide turned”, Bucks coach Jason Kidd said. “For us, a lot of good things came out of this”. “The guys played hard, but the ball did not fall for us”.
Klay Thompson added 27 points and Green had 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
It was Brandon Rush who got the run started with five straight points after Ezeli started the second half in place of an injured Andrew Bogut and scored the first four points.
Carter-Williams again took it to the Warriors, scoring 24 points while adding five rebounds and four assists in 39 minutes, this time as a starter.
The Golden State Warriors were not setback at all, despite losing their first game of the year just a week ago.
“They came out, they wanted a piece of the champs and we weren’t fighting back”, Walton said. Center Greg Monroe, their big free-agent acquisition this summer, sustained a mild knee injury earlier this week that forced him to miss the last two games and could keep him out of action.
