JJ Abrams already regrets not directing next instalment of Star Wars

Director JJ Abram’s “Star Wars – The Force Awakens”, which is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, will end the year on a big note.

Exhibition companies like AMC Entertainment, Regal, Cinemark, Carmike and Imax are lagging this week, even though “The Force Awakens” has been crushing IMAX ticket sales records.

As the Internet discusses “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ad nauseam this holiday season, fans of the franchise should be relieved the new film resembles the original trilogy and not those maligned prequels.

However, box office figures show only one side of the equation, and production costs also need to be taken into account to get a clearer picture of the success of the movie.

But curiosity among the world’s biggest online community could help the film rival smash hits like action movie “Furious 7”, the latest in a series long popular with Chinese viewers that took over $180 million in its opening weekend in China. That record should fall as The Force Awakens is expected to gross $120M.

After the movie, Ice Prince and MD, HP Inc., Ifeyinwa Afe, presented the gift of a HP Pavilion X360 to the first victor of the HP #AwakenYourForce online competition, Princewill Ejirika.

The new relationship between Princess Leia and Han Solo is surprisingly well-handled; I only wish other aspects of the script had been as carefully dealt with.

“It’s very good, very good”, she said.

“Sell-outs provide too many opportunities for people to be uncomfortable or unhappy”, she said. It’s a real Star Wars movie; it’s just not a really great Star Wars movie.

Disney has had to work hard for its “Star Wars” buzz in China. Lucasfilm and Disney have said in the past that they want a Star Wars movie every year, so does this mean we’ll be getting Star Wars: Episode X in 2021?

“I was pretty offended by that so I blew it off for the rest of the summer”, Miles said.
