Nine Injured in Jerusalem as Palestinian Rams Car Into Bus Stop
The alleged Palestinian attacker was shot dead after ramming his auto into a bus stop near an entrance to the city, Israeli military spokesman Peter Lerner tweeted.

Lerner also tweeted a photo of a small axe that police allegedly found in the slain man’s vehicle.
Netanyahu, describing the wave of attacks as “a new type of terror by individuals which challenges us and other countries”, praised the quick response of people at the scene whose actions “prevented far more serious tragedies”.
The military said the woman was taken to a Jerusalem hospital, and the media said she was in a critical condition.
The attacker, identified as 21-year-old Abdel Muhsan Hasuna of East Jerusalem, was shot dead by a security guard and a civilian who were both armed, a police spokeswoman said.
Quartet representatives met with senior Israeli officials to discuss “ending the violence, restoring security and ending incitement” as well as “future channels” for the peace process, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
She also voiced deep concern over reports of excessive use of force by Israeli forces and added that all instances of the use of force resulting in death or injury by law enforcement officers should be the subject of prompt, independent and impartial investigations.
In his annual pre-Christmas address Wednesday, Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal, the top Roman Catholic cleric in the Holy Land, called for calm.
