Dadri lynching: Meat found in fridge mutton, says report
The report submitted by the deputy chief veterinary officer of the State Veterinary Hospital in Gautam Budhnagar says the 4-5 kilo flesh recovered from Bisada, which was submitted for examination, seems to be of “goat progeny”.
In a gruesome incident, Akhlaq was lynched and his son was grievously injured following rumours that his family has consumed beef in Bishada village of Dadri in Uttar Pradesh.
It said that “due to the request of Tej Pal Singh, Sub-Inspector, Police Station Jarcha, case no. 241/15 dated 29/09/2015, I have examined the meat seized by the police from the village”.
As indicated by Times Now, the Uttar Pradesh” veterinary division has affirmed that the meat found on Akhlaq’s home was “mutton” not “beef’.
Investigators had sent the “offending meat” for tests!

However, the Uttar Pradesh police is yet to receive a report from the forensic lab. The UP police had initially faced a lot of flak for having collected the meat samples in the first place. Akhlaq’s son Mohammad Danish, who was also beaten up, is recuperating.
The Noida police filed a charge sheet last week against 15 people including Vishal Rana and Shivam, son and nephew of a local BJP leader Sanjay Rana and a minor for their alleged involvement in Akhlaq’s lynching.
A total of 15 of the 19 accused have been arrested in the case.
