They added: ‘Just look at these too.
Talk about the power of social media!
Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is a nonprofit charity dedicated to saving dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in north Georgia, as indicated by their website. Now, they are all smiles.
“If no one saves us, someone will take her away from me”.
‘They’ll come for me next and I won’t be as courageous.
According to the charity, two hours and six minutes after the original post, Kala and Keira were saved and being driven by a volunteer to a veterinarian.
Not long after the photo was posted, the two dogs were rescued. Angels Among Us updated the post later with a picture of the pups and their new owner, saying, “THEY ARE SAFE!!!”
The photo immediately went viral and was shared over 9,000 times from the Angels Among Us Facebook page. That’s how you take action!!
“It is so easy to say, why won’t the shelter do something but they are the ones reaching out to us begging for help”. Stay tuned for the freedom ride!! You are AMAZING people and we are grateful beyond words for your support.
Below is also a snippet with the hugging dogs photo of the canines “asking” for help. They had received enough donations to take the pair to the vet to get head-to-toe exams, vaccinations, fecal and heartworm tests, have microchips put in place, as well as spay procedures done. Kala and Keira are in a shelter and are scheduled to be put to sleep.
Though the pet rescue said Keira and Kala could be separated – the only thing that mattered was that they were alive – they were adopted as a duo.
“We’re so scared in here. We have to have someone rescue us or we’ll be ‘next, ‘” the Facebook post reads.
Within hours, the image had caught the eye of a local man who just knew Kala and Keira were the dogs for him.
‘Can you see our faces.
He said: “Keira knows what will happen”. I’ll see her as she goes down the hallway. We’ve comforted each other while we were here. She gave me hope when I had non. “Now it’s over. Unless…”
