Huawei Honor 7 set to get Android Marshmallow in India
The latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings a number of interesting features on board, including Doze, which put your smartphone in a deep sleep state, cutting off the apps from the network and improves the battery life for the handset. The registration link leads to fill in details of the phone’s current software version, EMI number, email address and contact number as an optional information. However, Honor 7 owners don’t need to wait that longer as the company has started pushing the update to these smartphones in India. According to the Chinese OEM, the OTA update notification will reach registered devices within 24 to 48 hours of signing-up. Now that it comes with Marshmallow as well, Honor 7 looks like a great proposition at Rs 22,999.
The phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and as is the case with Honor phones we have seen in the past, it comes with the Emotion UI 3.1 skin atop the Android OS. Hopefully, additional details about a wider roll out of the device and Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be announced at CES 2016 in January. How the features of Huawei will be available with the new Android 6.0 is yet to be revealed by the company. The device is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 935 chipset, which is designed in-house by Huawei. A microSD card slot is also present, with support for up to 128GB. Honor 7 sports activities a 20MP rear digital camera with PDAF and twin LED flash. The phone also has a 8 MP front facing camera.
