Nets fall to Mavericks in OT thriller, 119-118

Outside of the stats, though, the Mavs just appeared to be more tuned in to what was happening, playing with aggression and force on both ends of the floor – they set harder screens, ran through their sets quicker, and talked more on the defensive end.

Dirk Nowitzki is also the all-time leader in points, rebounds, field goals, and field goal attempts, 3-pointers and 3-point attempts, free throws and free-throw attempts, for the Dallas Mavericks.

Nowitzki achieved the feat during the Mavericks’ road game against Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.

Nowitzki spoiled a wild Nets comeback and finished with 22 points, passing Shaquille O’Neal for sixth place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 28,609 points. “I’m honored just to come to work with him every day”.

The Thunder prevailed for the ninth time in 10 games.

Tyreke Evans added 24 points and nine assists, and guard Jrue Holiday had 19 points and five assists in 21 minutes off the New Orleans bench.

James Harden finished with 31 points and seven assists, and Dwight Howard had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets.

The Mavericks led by 16 in the first half, trailed by 11 in the fourth quarter, and the game went to OT when Young followed Barea’s three-point play with a 3-pointer to tie it at 108, then blocked Barea’s shot on the final possession (see full recap).

The decisive basket came after a hook shot by center Brook Lopez gave the Nets a 118-117 lead with 41.1 seconds remaining.
