Following the 2007 season, Florida also faced MI in what was then known as the Capital One Bowl. Harrell has played in every game this season, mostly on special teams.
Players say free time has been scarce – and nearly non-existent.
“Going through a season at MI, where you don’t get to a bowl game, it’s hard because there’s so many high expectations”, Magnuson said. “I think he views it as a game we must win”. We’re doing football 24/7 and sleeping.
“I have a lot of friends who play on other teams (and) hearing their bowl experiences, (they) are different than ours”, he said.
“If we win that game, we don’t win the national championship the next year”, he said.
Outside of a bowl-sponsored trip to Buffalo Wild Wings on Monday night, and a bit of free time earlier in the day, Michigan’s entire schedule thus far in Florida has revolved around football. “I plan to do my own research to see how good everyone says he is”.

More than anything, bowl games are a reward for the players. Harbaugh isn’t into any of that. “We’ve already improved on our record from past year, and I think now to get 10 wins, win a bowl game and send out the seniors the right way, that’s the main focus right now”. Harbaugh said his favorite ride in the park is Space Mountain. “I’m sure he will be another of the greats that have coached with Coach Harbaugh”. “But I don’t think that game had a lot to do with the next year”.
