Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp demands consistency ahead of Sunderland showdown
The Premier League spreads the games out this week with Sunderland hosting Liverpool on Wednesday’s soccer TV schedule. There are so many points in the end of December and January. We know that, so we have to prepare ourselves in that kind of way every time the match is being played. With the conditions at Watford and the wind, we tried to over-play at times and that sort of killed us. “We need the striker for the other options too, to work for the other minutes”.
“We need to find different solutions in games and make sure we win the battle”. “All the teams always put in a good performance where you have to show and prove that you are able to get three points”.
Liverpool will not rush back striker Daniel Sturridge, who has returned to training following his latest four-match injury absence with a hamstring strain, and are awaiting the results of a scan on a hamstring injury Divock Origi suffered against Leicester.
“We want to develop and get more points in these very important moments in the league”.
Manchester City are reportedly the front-runners to secure the ex-Barcelona coach’s signature, while rivals Manchester United and Chelsea have also been touted as possible destinations. Sometimes we had to have a little conversation, they needed help from outside to say “please now, the other one is in the box so wait”.
“But if it really happens, then in comes perhaps the best coach in the world”.
Henderson admitted the Reds had to play clever football to see off Leicester, and he is expecting to have to do much the same at Sunderland if they are to prosper once again.
Former Borussia Dortmund coach Klopp came up against Guardiola regularly in the Bundesliga and he feels the Spaniard’s arrival would improve the Premier League.
Sunderland were thumped 4-1 by Manchester City at the weekend – a fourth successive Premier League loss for the Black Cats who are now just 1/7 (1.14) to be relegated this season. So far everything is completely fine. Firminho, Henderson and Couthino will provide the support from midfield but Liverpool’s greatest asset since Klopp took over has been their relentless work ethic.
