Eric Bledsoe to Undergo Left Knee Surgery
The Phoenix Suns announced star guard Eric Bledsoe underwent surgery Tuesday to fix a torn left meniscus.
Bledsoe previously tore a meniscus in his right knee and had it repaired in 2011.
They’ll need to lean on fellow point guard Brandon Knight even more, while also getting increased contributions across the floor-perhaps even from forwards-to facilitate clean ball distribution to ensure they can keep their offense afloat. Well the MRI that Bledsoe has taken on his knee after going down with the injury has shown otherwise. The Sixers also stopped a 23-game road slide dating to last season.
The Suns asked Morris to apologize to his teammates and coaches prior to re-instating him as an active player, after Markieff apparently demurred following a text and Twitter “sry”.
Smith’s finger roll from the lane gave the 76ers a 108-100 lead with 1:52 remaining, and the Suns (12-20) never got closer than six points thereafter. In short? While they’re not the worst thing out there right now, there are few teams that are worse than them.
The silver lining is that now the Suns can focus on the development of their young talent, particularly by giving heavy minutes to last June’s lottery pick 19-year-old Devin Booker in Bledsoe’s absence.
There was a new vibe around this team all day.
In 352 games with the Los Angeles Clippers and Suns, Bledsoe has averaged 11.6 points, 4.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.
NEW ORLEANS – Anthony Davis had 24 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots for New Orleans, and Tyreke Evans stole Trevor Ariza’s inbounds pass in the final seconds.
“Obviously it’s probably a low point for us”, Hornacek told the Associated Press following the 76ers game.
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Avery Bradley scored 18 points, Isaiah Thomas had 17 points and nine assists, and the Celtics got the win on the road. Suns F P.J. Tucker returned to the lineup after coming off the bench the last two games.
“We’re just flat-out losing games and something’s got to change real quick”, he said. He came to the Suns in 2013 after six seasons on Doc Rivers’ staff with the Boston Celtics. The 6-foot-10 power forward served his first of two game suspension for throwing a towel at Hornacek against Philadelphia.
With Bledsoe out, the Suns were left to battle with a lightened roster.
In the report by The Arizona Republic, Phoenix head coach Jeff Hornacek said about the situation at the point guard position, “We felt that all along, if something happened to one or the other, if they were missing a game or something, the other guy could be the lone point guard”. After a quick examination during a timeout he came back into the game.
