Warriors’ Curry undergoes MRI, questionable for Mavericks game
The reigning MVP and NBA’s scoring leader did not participate in the Warriors’ light practice Tuesday while receiving treatment the day after limping through the Warriors’ win against the Sacramento Kings.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Marc Spears, Curry is officially questionable for Wednesday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.
It seemed to be a consensus in Golden State’s locker room that Kerr’s message was on point.
Warriors guard Stephen Curry was not at morning shootaround for Wednesday night’s games against the Mavericks so he could get an MRI on a lower left leg injury.
“He’s done that so many times throughout the year, I don’t think that’s me, per se”, Seth Curry said. “We’ll sit down and go over game plan and strategy in person instead of on the telephone, and it’ll just be nice to have him around again on the road”. Now with 29 wins, and one loss, they’re on a 33-game winning streak at home (dating back to last season), and finished off the 2015 calendar with only a single home loss, and 42 wins.
Wesley Matthews delivered in Dallas’ time of need as he scored nine of his team-high 22 points in the fourth quarter.
DeMarcus Cousins to ref after 3 Kings fouls in 21 seconds: “You want them to score that bad?”
Although the Sacramento Kings have seen some tough competition in recent games, and their struggles on the court, it may not last much longer. “But we can’t emotionally lose it”.
The Kings were excited to have a healthy Cousins for the first time in three meetings with the Warriors this season. While Barnes is just one piece of the rotation, his presence allows the Warriors more scorers in the mix with more offensively-limited players.
“With “Cuz” (Cousins) out and Rajon (Rondo) kind of (out due to foul trouble of his own), we never could find an offensive rhythm in the third quarter, which is where we lost the game”, Karl said.
With Cousins standing calmly off to the side, and knowing he already had one technical foul, Cousins went after the referee. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson followed with 3-pointers as the Warriors pulled away with a 15-0 run.
Curry, who is averaging 30.5 points per game, isn’t the only Warriors player injured. Curry hit five 3s and a layup during that span to the delight of the home crowd.
“It was like a heat-check shot, but I wasn’t hot, so I don’t know what you would call it”, Curry said.
“Guys are a little banged up, and it’s just hard right now with the other injuries that we have because to rest one or two guys is putting lot more stress on some of the other guys”, Walton said. Use him confidently. Friday – SG/SF Jimmy Butler, Bulls (vs. Knicks): Butler has scuffled of late, including a 12-point showing in Chicago’s previous encounter with NY.
