British Columbia struck by moderate quake
A moderate quake shook an inland area of Southern California near San Bernardino on Tuesday night, giving a start to thousands across a heavily populated area.
The quake struck at 11:39 p.m., about 20 kilometres north of Victoria was felt across much of southern British Columbia.
The service said the quake registered as a 4.8-magnitude shaker, while Earthquakes Canada had it at 4.3-magnitude.
The National Tsunami warning centre says there is no risk of a Tsunami for coastal areas.
The Canadian agency says there are no reports of damage and adds none would be expected.
Some Puget Sound residents were rattled overnight by the largest quake in the Northwest in more than a decade.
