Peyton Manning returns to practice as Broncos’ eventual QB call nears
Brock Osweiler admitted to feeling the pressure after the Denver Broncos’ disappointing 15-12 defeat to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
In roughly 17 quarters, Osweiler has been sacked 17 times, including once for a safety Sunday. The 39-year-old had throwing sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The Broncos visit the Pittsburgh Steelers this week, and there’s a very good chance it’s the last we see of Osweiler if things go badly again.
Manning was the Broncos’ quarterback through the first nine games.
Who knows, maybe Osweiler has more than meets the eye to him and the learning process will give the Broncos a better quarterback who can move better than he is right now and be a more unsafe passer than he is right now. Against the Raiders in Week 14, he threw the ball 51 times and failed to throw a touchdown pass, the first time of the 2015 season.
As for rumors that Peyton might play in 2016, the Broncos quarterback isn’t looking far ahead yet, according to Archie.
In Indianapolis, everything seems to be upside down and the only certainty is this: Luck will miss his fifth straight game, his seventh this season and his second in a row against his hometown team as he recovers from a lacerated kidney and partially torn abdominal muscle.
Marshall said the league’s top-ranked defense holds no grudges against the NFL’s 24th-ranked offense, one that can’t seem to find the end zone no matter if Brock Osweiler or Peyton Manning is taking the snap. Manning is beginning to practice this week to test his injured foot, The Denver Post reported.
“That’s the next step, that he’s coming back to practice”, Kubiak said Monday.
The Broncos have been careful not to make a decision regarding their future at the quarterback position. With Osweiler, the Broncos have worked back under center and been more consistent.
“You can’t let him stay in the pocket, he can make any throw there is making sure we bring a lot of pressure and bringing him to the ground and getting some good hits on him are crucial”, Ray said.
For at least one more week, the Denver Broncos are Brock Osweiler’s team.
“I just heard about that, ” Kubiak said Friday.
“I’m not going to talk about what’s going on three weeks from now, two weeks from now; we’re committed to playing Pittsburgh”.
The Denver Broncos are rumored to be nearing a crossroads, with Peyton Manning continuing to improve from the multitude of injuries that knocked him out earlier this year but no certainty on whether he’ll return to the starting role.
