$9000 Check Helps Twin Falls Salvation Army Meet Christmas Goal
The annual Christmas Kettle Appeal Drive launched by the Salvation Army is the group’s single largest fundraising effort as the proceeds of the appeal go towards the annual children’s Christmas party and assisting needy families during the holidays.
Officials with the organization set the goal at $180,000 in November, which was $40,000 more than what was raised in 2014. Courts is very much appreciative of the work of the Salvation Army, noting that most of its objectives are similar to that of Courts.
“We, as a board, have always felt strongly about the worthwhile objective the Salvation Army serves in assisting those in need in the Huron area” said Blessinger.
The red kettles are gone, but the need is still there. Thank you to our media partners for helping us to spread the word and encourage others in the Tri-Cities community to come alongside us and make those struggling to feel blessed again. “We wouldn’t be able to do it without those people stepping out and staying in the cold. Let’s continue to bring in the New Year changing lives one change at a time”. In Johnson County, officials said they’re still short of their goal by $55,000.
“We met our goal (last) Monday with three days still left in the campaign”.
When the final tally is complete, the Salvation Army says it will top $500,000.
