Local Agencies Work Together for a Safe New Year’s Eve

The region’s public transit service is making travel seamless and affordable on New Year’s Eve, whether riders are commuting to and from work or a holiday bash.
The city said customers can also flag down a bus at any point along a route.
Resident and restaurant owner, Peter Yanuzzi, said not only does he advertise the service but he knows friends who have used it to get home safely.
In Regina, free bus service will be provided from 7 p.m. CST to until about 2:15 a.m. on January 1. It’s a ride home.
He estimates he provided about 180 rides a year ago and believes the service has grown in popularity due to increased sharing on social media.
The Breckenridge Free Ride will take visitors from Main Street to Free Ride stops within the town of Breckenridge. “A drunk driver hit the taxi and she was killed”.
On New Year’s Eve and day, the Woodstock police officers will provide free rides home to patrons who may be impaired or feel they are unsafe to drive, according to Woodstock’s Chief of Police Calvin Moss.
