Cloudy skies with stray flurries New Year’s Eve in metro Detroit

A mostly sunny Saturday kicks off the holiday weekend with the high expected to be near 35 degrees and the low expected to be 28. Expect to see showers taper off overnight with a few lingering showers possible in the Upstate early Thursday morning.
New Year’s Eve is looking partly cloudy and cold as high pressure nudges in from the west.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies and chilly temperatures will be around, with a high temperature of 42 degrees. Foggy conditions are expected this morning with cloudy conditions appearing later today.
New Year’s festivities across south-central Wisconsin won’t be hampered by bad weather, according to forecasters. Overnight lows will cool to the upper 20s with a winds continuing out of the northeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour.
