Kobe Bryant makes final visit to Boston on Wednesday at Celtics

The message was broadcasted at the Time Warner Cable Arena ahead of the Charlotte Hornets hosting the Los Angeles Lakers, a match which marked Bryant’s final visit to Jordan’s hometown.

Observers believe that Bryant, with the way he has played in his 20-year career, can prosper in Charlotte behind guards Dell Curry and Donald Royal back in the day. “Usually he comes out at the end of the third quarter for a quick break, but we were up four and he said, ‘I’m good.’ We can’t keep doing that, but at this part of the season where you want to get a cushion… you leave him in there and let him go”.

“‘Metta, I’m so damn happy we won that 2010 Finals because I’d be sick as (hell) sitting here, ‘” Bryant recalled saying. “I thought he looked strong”.

It’s a fairly simple message – Jordan congratulates Bryant on his accomplishments, praises his competitive drive, and wishes him well as he tries to translate that mindset to his post-basketball life.

While Jordan transitioned into an ownership role for an National Basketball Association team, Bryant said he doesn’t expect to follow the same path. “It’s got to be on us getting better”, coach Brad Stevens said.

As such, Jordan offered Bryant some brotherly advice and warned it may not be easy to figure out what to do after leaving his professional career.

“It’s more so because if he runs his body 30 to 35 minutes, it’s not going to be productive short or long term”, Stevens said.

Bryant, who will retire after the season, helped add two chapters to one of the greatest rivalries in professional sports.

Zeller has put in solid back-to-back games for the Hornets while starting at center in place of Al Jefferson, who is still working back into shape after an injury and a five-game suspension.

Charlotte shot 48.3% (43-89) from the field and 24% (6-25) from three.

Julius and D’Angelo are both expected to play off the bench, with head coach Byron Scott planning to re-evaluate the rotation following their last game in December.

According to NJ, the idea of playing over in Europe has now started being tossed around and Bryant has already had something to say about it. “I enjoyed competing against him”.
