AAP says Jaitley influenced probe, DDCA to sue Kejriwal
And Mr Jaitley was the President of the DDCA.
Though Azad has been insisting that his fight was against corruption in the DDCA and had nothing to do either with Jaitley or Jaitley, what irked party, said sources, was his relentless finger-pointing at a time when the Delhi-ruling AAP has made it a political issue to attack the finance minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
The party makes public two letters, allegedly written by the Finance Minister to the Delhi Police, asking cops to “close” an investigation involving a cricket club of a bank in 2011.
Senior AAP leader Ashutosh claimed that the letters “punctured” Jaitley’s repeated assertions that he was in no way connected with any wrongdoing in the DDCA, which he headed for 13 years till 2013.
The BJP served party MP Kirti Azad with a show cause notice for his “anti-party activities” and asked him to explain himself in 10 days or face expulsion. The complaints are completely unsubstantiated and do not disclose any offense. “I would request you to look into the matter and ensure that the matter is dealt with fairly and closed since the DDCA has done no wrong”, the letter said.
Azad had roped in BJP leader Subramanian Swamy to draft a reply to his suspension notice and approached the party’s Margadarshak Mandal for support. Twenty seven executive members, including Jaitley, were not assigned any role. It shows the BCCI is above law.
At a press conference here, Azad quoted from the report of SFIO, which had gone into the Delhi cricket body affairs, to claim that it had recommended “prosecution” of Jaitley among others but it has not been done in the last three years.
The Aam Aadmi Party today wants to put on record that if Mr. Virat Kohli is India’s Captain today, he’s despite corruption in players’ selection in the DDCA under Mr. Arun Jaitley and not because of them as claimed by the people defending Mr. Arun jaitely yesterday.
You have made several statements in the media which constitute anti-party activities and such unfounded allegations were clearly meant to bring the party and its office-bearers into disrepute.
“The DDCA is willing to give the club back to be managed by the bank itself but nobody seems to be showing active interest from the bank’s side”.
