Munich Police Warn Of Impending Terrorist Attack, Clear 2 Rail Stations
Police said they had received two different, “concrete” tips but did not elaborate on the nature of the threat or who had warned them.
“The Police of Munich will inform you about the progress of the Regularly Developments”.
A police spokesman said was “serious current information” of a New Year’s Eve terror alert in the city and the surrounding area.
“Current indications that a terrorist attack is planned in Munich”, the police said on Twitter in German.
The city’s main railway station has been evacuated, along with the Pasing station.
“Due to existing information which we take highly seriously, there is an attack planned tonight”.
According to the dpa news agency, two train stations have been evacuated – and services are no longer stopping there. “Please avoid crowd gatherings as well as the central train station and the Pasinger train station”, read a translation of the German tweet.
It comes after Brussels cancelled plans to celebrate New Year’s Eve yesterday.
