Parish: Pardew can leave Palace for Real Madrid
Patrick Bamford has ended his loan spell from Chelsea and Yohan Cabaye will miss Sunday’s match against the same club after picking up a fifth yellow card of the season.
QPR striker Charlie Austin remains a top target of Crystal Palace ahead of the January transfer window, according to the Express.
Those cold wet January days will seem a bit easier when you can hop on the tube when you clock off for Premier League action under the lights. “I’m just disappointed I couldn’t do more for the team”. I get that. Now he needs to find game time in the Premier League, will he get that at Chelsea? Manager Alan Pardew also said his side were short of quality to make a break through at Swansea’s goal and admitted the players were feeling the effects of the hectic schedule.
“This move for him, from what I’m seeing and from the amount of minutes he’s playing, has not been a good move”.
The pair worked with each other for over three years – Cabaye making 79 Premier League appearances for the club and scoring 17 goals – until Pardew was sacked at the end of 2014.
“With the bodies we have available I’m confident, but Chelsea looked more assured against Manchester United so they’re favourites”.
“He couldn’t get a starting place because we kept winning, and he wants game time”, said Pardew, who may enquire about detting another Chelsea striker, Loic Remy, on loan. It’s been a learning curve for him but I have no regrets and I have a relationship with him going forward.
A few injuries to key players such as Yannick Bolasie, Bakary Sako and Connor Wickham will really test the character in the dressing room and the depth of the squad.
“That’s when he called me [about a transfer] and I knew the team before he started talking about them!”
