Steve Harvey shows his sense of humor with tweet
Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines, wrote a touching message and including a part to Miss Colombia Adriadna Gutierrez. He explained to the audience and viewers that he misread the card that held the names of the winners.
“I felt calm when I was called first runner-up because I felt it was fate”, she said.
This led to an ugly series of events – while Steve became a butt of jokes, Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez and Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbachthe were casted as enemies. “Please let’s all stop now”, Wurtzbach said in an attempt to move past the controversy.
Things have started to settle down after the recent Miss Universe fiasco that saw the representatives of Colombia and the Philippines placed in the harsh glare of the world’s spotlight. Arguing and sending hateful messages to each other defeats the whole objective.
Steve Harvey made light of the Miss Universe faux pas that set social media abuzz with users “roasting” him. Black Enterprise reports that the TV personality/author owns part of the company that bought the Miss Universe franchise from Donald Trump. “That’s why I also promise to dedicate my next fight to her and to my countryman and that I will do my best to win”.
On her first Christmas as Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach had a special message to the woman who wore the crown for only a few brief moments before her. Guitierrez was crowned and made her celebratory victory walk in front of an audience of cheering fans.
Wurtzbach also had a message for the haters.
The tweet comes after the 58-year-old named the wrong victor during Sunday night’s live broadcast of the annual worldwide Miss Universe pageant. I’m excited to begin my duties as Miss Universe and I wish everyone, all the contestants and all the supporters a great holiday with their loved ones.
