Israeli police: Gunman wounds several people in Tel Aviv bar
A gunman killed two people and wounded at least three others in central Tel Aviv today before fleeing, Israeli police said, adding that the motive for the attack was unclear.
According to sources, two of the injured were in serious condition and three were stated to be out of danger, Haaretz daily reported.
A witness told Channel 1 television the attacker used an automatic weapon in the Friday attack. She said a massive manhunt was underway for the shooter.
Police are warning residents to stay away from the area while they comb the area for the suspect.
A paramedic for Magen David Adom said: “When I arrived at the scene I saw a huge commotion”. Police are still uncertain if the attack was nationalistically or criminally motivated. I quickly ran to an approximately 35-year-old man who was fully conscious.
The injured were taken to Sorasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv and Wolfson Medical Center in Holon.
The victims have been evacuated to Ichilov Hospital, Tel Aviv. At least 131 Palestinians have been killed by either Israeli attackers or security forces.
