Is This How Kylo Ren Got Darth Vader’s Helmet?

Finn struggles with his abusive “family”, such as it is; Rey is, underneath it all, looking for acceptance and friends, if she can’t find family; and Kylo is torn between his complicated father and the grandfather he idolizes. I expect we’ll see a greater struggle with Rey’s emotions unfold in the coming movies.

In the video above – WARNING: LANGUAGE – I tackle the three main complaints that “prove” Rey is a Mary Sue: her aptitude for ships, her ability to fight with a lightsaber, and her Jedi mind trick. If i’d guess, i’d pick Max von Sydow’s character Lor San Tekka, who is very familiar with the force because he’s an explorer and member of the church of the force.

I know, we’ve never seen a manipulation of a person through the force in an amount like this before. The script was released to the Writers Guild of America for awards consideration and /Film has the details on script direction and descriptions that may provide some context for the story and where it might go. But it doesn’t mean that it’s not possible. Darth Vader was an angry guy, but in a more tasteful way. So it’s not really unlikely.

This is a nice theory about the scene because it harks back to Return of the Jedi, which will undoubtedly be explored in the next episodes, but it doesn’t quite add up.

Regarding the final moments of the film, the script mentions the name of the planet Luke Skywalker is on as “AHCH-TO”. There’s nothing that’s more of a letdown than a tantalizing question with a boring answer.

But even if you’re still not convinced by the end of the video, I posit this question: Who cares if Rey is a Mary Sue?

And personally, i think it would be good for the sake of the character of Luke Skywalker if this theory would be true.

Several of the other tweets made fun of Kylo’s long dark locks as the old emo scene referred to in the name was largely based on hair. So the Luke-Fans would like it to see confirmed that after ROTJ he found someone special he could love.
