Kids ring in 2016 at noon
“So instead of counting down to midnight, we actually count down to noon”.
Organizers say the celebration is unique since it allows kids and families to bring in the new year together.
Kids were able to create their own party hats and noise makers, and take part in a dance party – with a ball drop at noon. This is the center’s fifth annual Countdown to Noon.
Haven attended the party with her mother, Bri Magouirk, and her three-year-old brother, Graeme. “They love the confetti. they love the balloons”, said Kim Kidwell, Family Museum Director.
The New Year’s Eve partying normally doesn’t start until later this evening, but some in Philadelphia are already having fun welcoming in 2016.
Trip Nader, 2, gets his mother, Sherwood, to blow his party favor Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 during the CHOM’s New Year’s Eve party for Children at the Children’s Hands on Museum.
The museum will be open on New Year’s Day from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
