LG G5 Rumored to Get Secondary Display, Dual Rear Cameras, Magic Slot
Speculations also point to the G5 featuring dual rear cameras.
A lot is expected to the upcoming brand new flagship phone from LG, as it will be the successor of the outgoing LG G4 device.
The rumor says that the primary display of the LG G5 will be a 5.3-inch 1440 x 2560 panel, while the secondary screen (like the V10) will be a small strip of display with a resolution of 160 x 1040.
As far as internals go, the G5 is reported to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and include 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.
The LG G5 has a Magic Slot. The camera will also sport a dual-LED flash and two different laser assisted autofocus elements.
The LG G5 is said to get launched in Q1 2016. If the rumors are true about the size of the screen then G5 will be smaller than the previous version “G4” which is 5.5 inches QHD display.
The report claims that the secondary display will be one of the highlight features for the majority of LG handsets launching in 2016. The LG G5’s main camera is also expected to offer up to 16 megapixels, while its secondary shooter will provide up to eight megapixels. Besides that, a big change in the LG G5 is the ditching of the leather back build in favor of an all-metal unibody akin the HTC One M9. It has not been confirmed yet if the flagship will be supporting expandable storage via a microSD slot, but it is highly expected that it will be coming with the feature seeing as that the built-in storage capacity will be inadequate without it.
Like many upcoming releases, the LG will also include a fingerprint sensor similar to LG’s Nexus 5X release. The Magic Slot will allegedly allow for users to attach hardware modules to the device, things like 360-degree VR cameras, audio amps, or even a physical keyboard. It looks like the G5 will not be very impressive in terms of battery life as it could be equipped with a 2800mAh capacity battery, which is smaller than the 3000mAh capacity battery used on the G4 and the V10.
