Dead Island Definitive Edition Spotted on South African Retailer Site
While the game never did live up to the hype of that incredibly emotional announcement trailer, Dead Island still reviewed reasonably well. You ran around an isolated holiday location after the world has pretty much gone to pot, swinging makeshif clubs and swords and putting the toe into all manner of half decomposed flesh. Of course, Techland won’t be involved with this remaster – assuming it’s a real thing – as its wholly focused on Dying Light. The game is set for release August 25th (US) and August 28th (UK). Tomb Raider and The Last of Us have been examples of decent definitive editions, Sleeping Dogs was not. Local retailer Loot.co.za seems to have let the undead cat out of the bag; Dead Island is coming back, with Dead Island: Definitive Edition listed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Thanks Gematsu!). Some PC gamers argue that the original version of the game should be fixed before a (presumably) better looking version is released.
Following the recent news of Dead Island 2’s developer Yager being dropped from the game’s development there is word of a Dead Island: Definitive Edition on the horizon.
