New Year babies? Twins born apart in different years in US
Jaelyn’s little brother, Luis, arrived at 12:02 a.m. New Year’s Day.
The first, Jaelyn Valenicia was born at 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2015, and her twin brother Luis Valencia Jr. was born at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2016, a local ABC affiliate reported.
Sand Diego twins born one year apart from each other will forever officially have different ages despite a difference of only 3 minutes.
The hospital mentioned that the infants were both 18.5 inches long, and the weight of Jaelyn was 4 pounds, 15 ounces, whereas Luis weighed 5 pounds, 9 ounces.
The father says the twins’ unusual birth dates is not what mom was hoping for.
As per the hospital, the Valencia family belongs to San Diego. Luis tipped the scales at five pounds, nine ounces.
Maribel is a cashier at the San Diego International Airport, while her husband is a Navy diesel mechanic.
“I was not really expecting two, so it’s a big blessing to have two of them, boy and a girl for New Years”, said Valencia. The couple also has a 3-year-old daughter named Isabella. Despite ruining their plans, the young parents were excited by the news that their twins are about to come sooner than expected.
