Police seek AWOL Lejeune Marine who threatened to kill wife
Both the Marine Corps and the Oakland County, Mich. Sheriff’s Office are looking for an alleged deserter who authorities say should be considered armed and unsafe. “That is not accurate at all”, he said by phone. He also said he was willing to turn himself in, adding that suspect Facebook posts he made were taken out of context and blown out of proportion.
If you’ve seen him, please call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office at 248-858-4911.
The department says he made “multiple threats” to kill his wife and her family before she left North Carolina for Michigan.
Simmons is believed to be driving a 2011 metallic teal Toyota Camry with NC tags “DEP1561”.
But a Camp Lejeune spokesman says Gee-Simmons was never detained by them and they have no “low priority lockdown facility”.
On Monday, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office received information from the United States Marine Corps that Gee-Simmons had fled and believed to be in possession of an AK-47.
Deputies contacted the intended victim and her family. The family is taking precautions. Additional patrols were assigned to the area, and a be on the lookout was posted to all police agencies regarding this subject.
