Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams Leaves Browns Game With Ankle Injury
Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams left the game against the Browns with what appeared to be an ankle injury. He had five carries for eight yards before leaving, and was replaced by Fitzgerald Toussaint.
The Pittsburgh Steelers needed a win in the final week of the season to make the playoffs, but they ended up losing a very big piece of their offense in the process. Williams was carted off to the Steelers locker room immediately for further observation.
However, Le’Veon Bell’s suspension to start the season and subsequent knee injury pressed Williams into a much larger role than expected.
The Steelers running back suffered a right ankle injury early in the second quarter of Sunday’s matchup against the Browns.
The Steelers led the Browns 7-3 after the first quarter. We will continue to update this as more info is released regarding Williams’ injury. Williams returned to the sidelines before halftime, but he was not involved in the Steelers’ two-minute drill.
