Teresa Giudice out from prison
A lawyer for Teresa Giudice says she was freed at about 5 a.m. Wednesday from the Danbury Federal Correctional Institution in CT.
A source from the site said Giudice “was thrilled that she was finally going home“.
Teresa, 43, returned to her mansion, hubby and four daughters after leaving a federal lockup in Danbury, Conn. – the same facility featured in the Netflix hit “Orange is the New Black”.
Teresa Giudice may be home for the holidays.
She traveled home to Montville, New Jersey, in a black SUV and will be placed on home confinement until February 5, attorney James Leonard said, though she is expected to spend Christmas Eve at her brother’s home.
While in prison, Giudice was able to have socialize with her family via visits, phone calls and emails.
Gia, one of Giudice’s four daughters, tweeted “welcome back”.
Teresa’s girls were looking forward to her return home and “could hardly sleep last night because they were so excited that their mom was coming home”. Joe will begin his own sentence at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey early next year.
Teresa Giudice will have served 11½ months.
PEOPLE also learned that she took some extra time primping (about a half hour’s worth!) in the prison’s public bathroom before leaving this morning.
Teresa and Joe Giudice both pleaded guilty to numerous counts of fraud in March, 2014, which reportedly included bank, mail, and wire fraud, as well as making false statements on loan applications.
According to Us Weekly, there were cameras that were present as soon as Teresa got back on the outside, and People reports that she applied makeup and prepared herself immediately after her release in a prison bathroom.
