Man charged with having weapons in Gillette Stadium lot
A CT man who police say had a stash of weapons in his parked vehicle outside Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, is expected to face a judge Monday. Swords, a stun gun, and a meat cleaver.
The 48-year-old suspect, Matthew Bromson, was arrested after police found the weapons in his trunk.
Police said they were notified of a suspicious male party in the off-site employee parking lot. Police were seeking to arrest him on an outstanding warrant around 6 p.m. and he refused to comply, barricaded himself inside his home, and allegedly threatened to shoot officers.
Bromson was taken into custody without incident and there were no reported injuries, police noted.
Bromson was found in an employee parking lot around 11 a.m. and is scheduled to be arraigned in Wrentham District Court on Wednesday, according to CBS Boston.
The discovery came a day after the Winter Classic hockey game was held at Gillette, which also hosts the New England Patriots. But spectators at Gillette Stadium Saturday that spoke with NBC10 said they were shocked to learn of the arrest.
Bromson has had several run-ins with police over the years, including a 2014 incident in which he was reportedly involved in a standoff with police, according to Mass Live.
