Samsung Smart TV offers enhanced Smart Hub
According to Samsung, the new UI will allow users to switch seamlessly between broadcast content, OTT content, as well as content from other connected devices like Blu-ray players, consoles, and etc. There will also be a new Smart Control Remote that will be able to control the user’s entire home entertainment system.
Samsung has scheduled a press conference for January 5 at CES where it’s expected to unveil more details on its new Smart TV interface and remote.
The new Samsung Smart Control remote can now control more than just the Smart TV.
Yet, if it is indeed included in the box, then it could very well put Logitech’s department of third-party universal remotes out of business.
First Sony introduced their PlayStation Now streaming service on TVs previous year – a move that was quickly adopted in the Summer by Samsung in a number of countries.
A tech savvy homeowner would probably 2 to 3 sources of video content attached to their smart TVs. Like LG’s WebOS, Tizen tries to provide a simpler, easier interface for people watching smart TVs, but Samsung also uses Tizen to power smartwatches and low-priced smartphones in emerging markets.

Samsung has announced that the company is trying to bring a more unified approach to its TV OS.
The company as of now has not clarified whether the new Smart Control remote will be able to control other devices such as lights and cameras all connected via SmartThings. For example, it will immediately detect the set-top boxes you’ve plugged in the HDMI port. Samsung also announced a new portfolio of audio products, including the Soundbar featuring Dolby Atmos technology, as well as enhancements to its Radiant360 series. The updated gaming service will be showcased during the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show, taking place in Las Vegas this week.
