Pacers vs. Heat live stream
“I personally love being on the road and playing on the road”, said forward Paul George, whose team will begin a four-game trip Monday.
Then he was part of a scuffle at the end of the game, getting shoved by Marcus Morris twice, once before and once after the final buzzer.
George did a fantastic job of carrying the Pacers to a much-needed win in their last outing, but the Pacers have been too disappointing lately for me to back against a Heat team coming off two straight double digit wins.
Both teams enter in the top six of opponents points per game, with the Heat ranking second (94.5) and the Pacers sixth (98.6). “You’re going to have moments like that”.
George made a transition layup to give the Pacers a 77-71 lead with 4:16 to go and made two consecutive 3-pointers to stretch Indiana’s lead to 83-75. Heat check after heat check kept going in as Paul George looked like the November version of himself.
Even when the Pacers went on their run in the third, the Pistons stuck around for awhile.
George Hill scored 18 points and Monta Ellis added 14 for the Pacers (19-14).
Morris hit a 3-pointer at the end of the third and Aron Baynes made a pair of free throws at the start of the fourth to get Detroit to 64-61. The Pacers defense played well enough, holding Detroit under 40%, but struggles to corral offensive rebounds (Pistons had 12 on the night) and an equally woeful night on offense mucked up the game, making it hard for IN to make any sort of push.
“I think that should be the stuff that we live for”, Hill said of shushing the crowd on the road.
Pistons: Andre Drummond finished with 11 points and 18 rebounds. George would score 11 more over the course of the next 90 seconds with three three pointers to help seal the game in Indiana’s favor. Ian Mahinmi (knee) returned to the starting line-up and Jordan Hill (dental work) played after both missed Thursday’s game against Milwaukee.
The Pacers enjoyed having Sunday off as they are set to face the Miami Heat at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
