Yum! Starbucks Adds Latte Macchiato To Drink Menu!
The drink is comprised of “perfectly aerated and free-poured” steamed whole milk marked with shots of espresso, according to the description on the coffee chain’s website.
Both drinks join the already-delicious espresso family, which includes the Doppio Espresso, Caffe Americano, Cappuccino and the Caffe Latte. Now, for the more familiar half: Latte is Italian for “milk”, and is made by pouring steamed milk slowly into the middle of the espresso, with a thin layer of light foam at the top.
For those who love a strong coffee, Starbucks promise a “bold and roasty” flavour for their new signature beverage.
First comes Flat White, then comes Macchiato.
If you’re thinking this drink sounds similar to another recent addition on the espresso menu, you’re probably thinking of the Flat White, a simple delight that also consists exclusively of espresso and milk. Select locations in Latin America will also be getting the drink. Starbucks introduced its newest espresso drink, the Latte Macchiato, on Monday, January 4, after the successful release of the Flat White in 2015.
Now if you’re thinking -Wait a minute, what is the difference between a regular latte, a flat white, and a latte macchiato? – don’t worry, we were wondering the same thing.
