Galaxy S7 & Edge Water-Resistant & microSD Supported
The new image has some of the sensors on the front of the Galaxy S7. That’s four and not three because there will be two flat Galaxy S7 models and two dual-curved phones (Galaxy S7 Edge and Edge+). The regular Galaxy S7 is supposed to sport a 5.1-inch display and the Edge variant is supposed to integrate a 5.5-inch screen, both of them would retain the QHD resolution from last year’s models. Now, the latest rumor about the Galaxy S7 has indicated that the device could have very few changes compared to the Galaxy S6, which was released this year. The company is also preparing an initial batch of five million units for the launch. Along with an updated processor will be 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB storage options, and microSD slots, a 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture that’s flush with the back of the phone, and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Also, both flagship smartphones will feature IP67 certifications, which will make them dust- and water-proof.
Any speculations regarding the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S7? The S7 is said to sport a 3,000 mAh cell, while the S7 edge will apparently get a 3,600 mAh battery (that’s up from 2,550 mAh and 2,600 mAh, respectively, in the S6 and S6 edge).
A new photograph has turned up on the web that claims to show a curved screen version of the Samsung Galaxy S7. Samsung is working on many fields including the semiconductor business and the auto branch, but the biggest factor in their profit will be the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7, which has to be ideal.
We should be on the ground in Spain to cover this (and other) event as part of Mobile World Congress, so as soon as we know more, you will too!
VentureBeat was told that Samsung presented the phones as being powered by the new, homegrown Exynos 8 Octa 8890, a system-on-chip based partially on an ARM reference design, and offering four high-performance 2.3GHz cores along with four power-efficient 1.6GHz cores (as well as an integrated cellular baseband modem, which will enable alleged LTE Category 9 throughput).
