It’s happening: LCD Soundsystem and Guns N’ Roses to reunite at Coachella
Coachella has announced the full line-up for the 2016 festival, with LCD Soundsystem, Guns N’ Roses and Calvin Harris set to headline.
Since disbanding LCD Soundsystem, Murphy has been busy in the food and drink business, opening a wine bar in Brooklyn and apparently eating so much fine food in London, Paris and NY that he gave himself gout.
The news of LCD Soundsystem’s return was reported by the New York Times, who simply listed the band’s imminent arrival as fact rather than citing anonymous sources.
According to the Consequence Of Sound, AEG Live failed to secure the correct permits for the festival’s inaugural debut, meaning that Panorama is dead in the water until 2017 at the earliest. Fans even thought it was actually happening when they released their Christmas song, “Christmas Will Break Your Heart”.
Reuniting seems to have been a good financial idea for LCD Soundsystem.
The electronic dance-punk band led by James Murphy has been disbanded since 2011. Axl Rose and Slash (who haven’t shared the stage in two decades), would reunite for a Coachella gig has been the dominant of the lot.
A representative for the band declined to comment.
