Green’s triple-double leads Warriors past Hornets 111-101
The Warriors as an organization have now taken home a conference-leading four PoW awards, with Green joining Stephen Curry (three) as Warrior PoWs this season. Maybe he went to some other fast food restaurants we don’t know about yet. In four games, Green led the Warriors with 18.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, 9.5 assists, and 2.5 steals.
“I’ve had it before, and it didn’t quite work out for me”, Green chucked, referring to successive triple-doubles on November 27 and November 28.
On the season, Green is averaging 15.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 7.4 assists.
Green shared the award with former Stanford star Brook Lopez, now with the Brooklyn Nets, who was the Eastern Conference selection.
Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets at Oracle Arena. Curry then tested himself in warmups and was cleared to play.
Green is the first player in Warriors history to post back-to-back triple doubles twice in the same season, and the first National Basketball Association player to do it in eight years.
Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb each scored 22 points for the Hornets.
Draymond Green recorded his NBA-high seventh triple-double of the season with 13 points and game highs in both rebounds (15) and assists (10)…
Draymond Green was named the NBA’s Player of the Week Monday following back-to-back triple-double performances in Warriors victories against the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets. The Michigan State alum now leads the league with six triple-doubles, tied with Guy Rodgers for the second-most by a Warrior in a single season (Tom Gola had a franchise-best nine such games in 1959-60).
