Violating his probation by fleeing to Mexico may earn Couch a maximum of 120 days in jail, said Tarrant County District Attorney Sharen Wilson.

He said authorities have no evidence that Couch’s father, who owns a sheet metal factory in North Texas, was involved.
NBC News has not independently confirmed a gun was found. The Tarrant County, Texas, District Attorney’s office told NBC News it is looking into the report of a gun.
That likely won’t happen until at least next week. It wasn’t immediately clear which attorneys were handling the case in Mexico. The charge stems from Couch purportedly helping her son flee the country to Mexico.

Ethan Couch is the Texas teen granted leniency by a North Texas juvenile court for a 2013 drunk driving wreck in which he pleaded guilty to four counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.
