Ted Cruz launches bus tour across Iowa
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), 2016 Republican presidential candidate, walks in the snow as he steps off his “Cruzin’ to Caucus” bus as he arrives to campaign at the King’s Christian Bookshop, January 4, 2016, in Boone, Iowa.
After hearing a almost identical speech from Cruz at a lunch-hour visit to a steakhouse and lounge in Carroll, retired secretary Jean Lees said she could see herself supporting Cruz but was leaning toward the candidate she referred to simply as “The Donald” – that is, businessman Donald Trump.
While presidential campaign ads have been hitting the airwaves for months, former Pennsylvania Sen. Several Iowa supporters, who refused to speak on the record about the ad, said they didn’t like its tone.
As of last week, Cruz was in second place among GOP presidential candidates with the support of 17 percent of likely primary voters, according to the HuffPost Pollster.
Stewart is a critical pick-up for Cruz, who has been consolidating evangelical support and has secured coveted endorsements from social conservatives in the state. It continues: “If you want to protect America, and defeat ISIS, Rick Santorum’s your president”.
“You want someone to read one helluva bedtime story, Ted Cruz is your guy”, the narrator says. Because serious times need serious people”. Ted Cruz was asked about this while campaigning in Iowa today, and he advised the demonstrators to stand down and not allow the situation to escalate violently.
