Houston Astros affiliate changes name to ‘Tacos’ for a day
The Fresno Grizzlies are on a hot streak this season, and on Tuesday they announced they’ll be adding a little spice to the next Taco Truck Throwdown.
Central California is the self-proclaimed birthplace of the taco truck, and to celebrate that local history, the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, will take to the field as the Fresno Tacos for one game this summer. Despite the team wearing their regular uniforms, the taco trucks managed to collectively sell more than 27,000 tacos past year. He also played in one Division-III golf tournament (he shot 105). The promotions, the wild uniforms, the dizzy bat races in between innings. “Taco Trucks have a long history in the Valley and we thought this served as a way for us to honor that heritage”. In order to promote the snack and the culture, Fresno Grizzlies, the local Minor League Baseball team, has decided to go all out with a complete wardrobe overhaul, reported Sports Logos.
The Taco Truck Throwdown is an annual event in which taco trucks from around the area come together to supply the city with delicious tacos. “People say mean things about Fresno a lot, but you can’t say anything bad about our tacos”.
