11 children and a woman are being held hostage near Atlanta

A police SWAT team has stormed a motel room in Georgia where a man had been holding a woman and 11 children hostage. Investigators are negotiating with the man. They said he may be armed with a knife.

Polic confirm the youngest child being held hostage is just 3 months old. Officers were communicating with the man for some time before the standoff came to an end. Dedrick says the children may be in danger.

The man has been taken to the hospital. Authorities said they initially responded to the motel for a report of a domestic dispute involving assault.

Police said a SWAT standoff ended at a DeKalb County motel at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police are on scene trying to get the situation resolved peacefully according to WGCL-TV.
